The Ukrainian Canadian Art Foundation – KUMF Gallery is pleased to present the virtual reality documentary, AFTERMATH VIRTUAL REALITY: EUROMAIDAN on Saturday, October 26, 2019 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm. For one night only, KUMF Gallery patrons and guests can experience a re-enactment of events that took place during Euromaidan on Institutska Street in Kyiv, Ukraine.

The producers utilized photogrammetry and CGI specifically adapted to special virtual reality goggles, enabling the viewer to walk and experience the same route the protesters did five years ago, explore the story through 360 ° archive footage, hear eyewitness interviews and see scanned Maidan artifacts from the collection of the National Museum of the Revolution of Dignity, Maidan Museum, Kyiv Ukraine.

“Virtual reality is a new storytelling medium, there are few rules and that gave us absolute freedom, and it also transforms the embodiment of certain solutions into a method of continuous testing. Virtual reality technology incorporates many of the best features of cinema, theater, performance, museum exposition and a video game. The viewer can interact with the project physically, getting what virtual reality pioneers like to call “experience,” says Alexei Furman, director, Aftermath VR: Euromaidan in Virtual Reality.
