“Mom, I don’t want war!” 1939-45 Poland / 2022 Ukraine.

The Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Toronto in cooperation with the Consulate General of Ukraine in Toronto presents incredibly moving testimonies of war, artistictly depicted by children.
A child is not a soldier, he does not defend the homeland, though he suffers with it. Janusz KorczakThe war has changed us regardless of who we are or where we live.
This exhibition features historical drawings of Polish children who survived World War II and contemporary drawings of Ukrainian children, who experienced the war currently taking place in Ukraine. Despite the 76 years interval between wars, we can still feel the horrors through the eyes of children.

“Mom, I don’t want war!” is part of the Polish-Ukrainian archival project “1939-45 Poland / 2022 Ukraine”, initiated by the State Archives of Poland and the Ukrainian initiative “Mom, I see war” portal.
